Spring Break Hours end Sunday, April 4th

Monday April 5th, ferry will resume normal hours

HEADLIGHT SAFETY - IMPORTANT NOTICE

Vehicles on the landing in the evening with their lights on are blinding our captains as they approach.

Many of the newer vehicles have very bright L.E.D. lights which is making this situation more serious. Vehicles using the ferry system after dark must adhere to the following “vehicle light” procedure.

  1. WHEN THE CAR FERRY IS APPROACHING THE LANDING, ALL VEHICLES WAITING TO BOARD THE CAR FERRY MUST TURN OFF ALL VEHICLE LIGHTS. DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS OR GOLF CART HEAD LIGHTS
  2. Leave your lights off until the mate signals you on to the vessel. If your lights are on when vehicles are backing-off they cannot see with their back-up cameras and mirrors. When in place on the barge turn your lights completely off again.
  3. YOU SHOULD MAKE SURE YOU KNOW HOW TO TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON AND OFF COMPLETELY BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT THE LANDING. Check your owner’s manual. You my need to shut your vehicle off, or one click on the E brake to get the lights off.
  4. Failure to follow these procedures may result in denied service.

TREE TRIMMING ON PANAMA BLVD STARTING AUGUST 3, 2020

On Monday, 8/3, Palm Island will begin trimming trees along Panama Blvd. There will be NO PARKING on the LEFT SIDE parking spaces.
After Monday parking will shift according to where they are trimming.
Starting Monday 8/3 you may park on the grass in front of the gated parking on the right side of Panama Blvd. There is a road entrance to the Island Park Lot and the grass area is on the right of that entrance road.

Saturday, December 19th Midnight
Sunday, December 20th through December 23rd - 11 PM

Saturday, December 26th - Midnight
Sunday, December 27th through Wednesday, December 30th - 11 PM
New Year's Eve, Thursday, December 31st - 1:00 AM
Friday, January 1st resume normal hours


BOAT RAMP INFORMATION

The following websites have information on boat ramps in the area for Charlotte County. Arrangements can be made to park your boat trailer in our secure lot. Ainger Creek Park Boat Ramp and Placida Boat Ramp are the closest to the island and Placida Boat Ramp is a straight shot up the inland waterway to the island.

NEW TUGBOAT DLBECKSTEAD PUSHING OUR NEWEST BARGE THE JAMIEB

This is the new tugboat DLBeckstead pushing our newest barge the JamieB.

THE LAUNCHING OF THE DL BECKSTEAD

Our newest addition to the Palm Island Transit Fleet was launched.
The blessing of the boat was done by Pastor Sammie and the christening was done by Jamie Beckstead and Chris Shepard.
